New Mexico State Capitol

Santa Fe is the capital of New Mexico and the capitol building is unusual in several respects, notably that it houses several art galleries open to the public. The building itself was opened in 1966 and is more interesting than it might appear at first glance. As the Palace of the Governors dates from 1610, this town can claim both the oldest and one of the newest state capitols in the country.

  1. A very pleasant place. I haven't visited too many state capitols, glad to add it to my list.
