For the first time visitor all these pieces of shoreline flow into each other and defy naming. Since we're no longer "first time visitors" the various segments are starting to become more distinct. Here we have the famous Perkins Park, named for the man who replaced wild stands of poison oak with carpets of pink South African ice plant (Drosoanthemum floribundum). They were just starting to bloom while we were there.
I saw a photo of how it looks right now. Talk about carpet of pink flowers!!
