"pupping" beach

I started referring to this area at the Hopkins Marine Station, where the harbor seals rear their young, as "pupping beach". One invariably sees the seals flopped all over the beach or swimming close to shore. Because they sleep during the day, it's important to be quiet and leave them in peace. Ironically, it's a fairly busy and well touristed area close to the aquarium.

  1. Everyone I have seen is pretty respectful in that area.
