The Pacific Grove Post Office is a fine New Deal-era building constructed in 1938. Inside is this mural depicting a Lovers Point beach scene, painted by Victor Arnautoff - a White Russian refugee famous for murals he did in San Francisco's Coit Tower. Arnautoff worked with Diego Rivera in Mexico and later in California. Interestingly and ironically Rivera's leftist politics rubbed off on Arnautoff, who fled the Bolsheviks in Russia only to join the Communist Party in America.
I like that PG p.o.
