The pastoral scenery of central Utah gave way to a rather busy urban freeway landscape. Downtown Salt Lake City seemed downright peaceful by comparison. The Peery Hotel is not the first attractive, historic hotel we've stayed at using Amtrak points (that was the Hotel Galvez in Galveston), but this one very much met my expectations. The lobby and the restaurant were top notch. The only downside was loud air conditioning in the room.
I can barely remember the a/c.
