I have to give credit to Lodge on the Desert for introducing me to the painter Ed Mell, whose work adorns the walls of the lobby. Actually, I think I had seen the postage stamp he designed for the Arizona statehood centennial in 2012. In any case, here is a man who knows how to paint the desert and whose contribution to landscape painting is without question.
Upon learning about Ed Mell, one can no longer say, "Who the hell is Ed Mell?"
