Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier, part 2

One  unusual thing about this pier is that you had to pay admission to use it. Initially I reacted badly to this, thinking it a part of some Florida craze for privatizing everything. Then upon noticing the good condition of the pier, which did seem well maintained compared to some public piers I've seen, I thought that if a small fee helps maintain a standard of decency, I'm not completely against it.

  1. I have seen other piers in Florida that charge a fee. As long as there are some available free of charge in addition to the ones that charge, I am okay with it.
