Immaculate Conception Church

At one end of the plaza are two white churches: one Catholic, the other Methodist. This is the Catholic one, Immaculate Conception Church - built in 1925 by noted architect George Washington Smith. (Smith is known mainly for his work in Santa Barbara, CA, which includes the Lobero Theater). In the background is the old Curly School, behind which is the Sonoran Desert Inn and Conference Center - where we stayed.
