The Mission San Xavier del Bac, approximately ten miles south of Tucson. Located on the San Xavier Indian Reservation - part of the Tohono O'odham Nation - this historic structure was completed in 1797. It is said to be the oldest Spanish Colonial, and for that matter "European" structure in Arizona. It was a busy Sunday and we decided not to get swept into mass.
It was an excellent decision on our part.
