Depending on the day - and time of day - the beaches of Pacific Grove were either a festival of fog (below) or a placid, sunny lake (above). Not sure where all the normally scary, explosive waves went. At bottom, the famous John Denver Memorial at low tide.
The waves were there, lingering behind the scenes, waiting for the right moment to make their grand reappearance.
