Another Pacific Grove point of interest that I had never fully taken note of is the El Carmelo Cemetery, just across the street from the golf course and the lighthouse. Apparently it's one of the city's older cemeteries. What's not clear is whether the deer prefer the grass there or on the golf course.
It was also across the street from our lodging. My thoughts are that the deer like the grass at both places equally and switch up dining spots just for a change of scenery.
