Compared to Paso Robles, King City was gloomy. We stopped at the old homestead and noticed that everything was the same except for the fact that the trees were being pruned beyond belief, and the lush vegetation behind the complex had been pruned beyond belief. Must be the new insurance clampdown on fire risk.
It was a mixed bag for me. Definitely sad to see the trees and vegetation pruned to nothingness, but…. It was kind of cool to be able to see the hills in the distance, on the other side of the river.
