This was an amazing sight to behold. As a birdwatcher, belted kingfishers had eluded me for years. Then suddenly at a stoplight in Covington, LA we saw this one perched on a wire. It swooped down a few times but always returned to its perch. This belted kingfisher was so "in your face" that I knew the Universe had selected this day for me to finally see one.
And for me to see it as well.
