Walker Percy's grave

The resting place of author Walker Percy - probably the most famous grave at Saint Joseph Abbey. Next to it, his wife Mary Townshend Percy. Apparently 'ol Walker didn't have a middle name. A Mississippian who earned a medical degree from Columbia University and a Protestant who converted to Catholicism, he was a thoughtful, interesting man. Although trained to be a physician, an extended bout of tuberculosis led to his decision to become a writer instead.
