Waterfront Park, part 2

The focal point of Waterfront Park is this splendid Pineapple Fountain, unveiled in 1990 as part of the park's post Hurricane Hugo renovation. The pineapple is a very old Charleston symbol representing hospitality. Palmetto trees are also an important state symbol dating back to the Revolutionary War. The fountain is a good blend of contemporary and traditional design.
