Although over ten miles west of the Los Angeles county line, and even further from the Malibu city limits, this beautiful beach (appropriately called County Line Beach) is situated in a piece of Ventura county that strongly resembles Malibu. As a geographer and a man who worked at Thomas Bros. Maps for four years, these county and municipal boundaries are etched into my psyche.
It’s a confusing subject. When I lived in Sunnyvale (which was my address), the phone number showed San Jose and we were a block from Santa Clara. It was possibly even more confusing than that. I can’t remember.
