It took me a while to put the pieces together, but later while gazing south from the Barnyard Shopping Village in Carmel (above), I realized I was looking at the same steep trail I hiked to reach Inspiration Point. Furthermore I had seen this trail from a distance for years. And when I was up on the trail I gazed down at the Barnyard and the rest of Carmel (below). As the song goes, I've looked at Palo Corona Regional Park from both sides now.
