Lower Presidio Historic Park

I had always thought that, as an army base, the Presidio was off limits to the general public. That may have been true at one time, but what I learned is that the lower portion of the Presidio is now a historic park. I had been curious about this piece of land, and now the universe was presenting it to me on a silver platter. The new views of the old harbor were wonderful, as well as meaningful, since I had driven by this place so many times. It is considered the most important historic site in Monterey.
