As we approached the terminal in Ketchikan, we passed this ship that was - interestingly and humorously - the exact cruise ship that we had booked in 2019, but which I cancelled due to ambivalent feelings about the safety of cruise ships. What was the universe trying to tell me? That my fears were unfounded? In any case I don't regret the circuitous route that after years of planning and cancellations put us on the ferry.
Yes, one wonders what would have happened in that alternative universe had we taken that cruise.
